Chris has remained very tight lipped on his participation in this years show and when asked by reporters if he was looking forward to his time in Australia he said:
"It should be nice, fingers crossed anyway."

When asked about being scared of things in the jungle he jokingly responded:
"There's lots of everything in this country, like sport and beer and i am not scared of sport and beer. so i think i will be alright."

He was also asked what his friends and family would think of his inclusion in the jungle this year and he said:
"I have absolutely no idea what my family and friends would think of me doing I'm a celebrity. i have never asked them. But i think they would be much more nervous about me doing antiques roadshow."

The show has been moved forward to avoid clashes with the winter World Cup which airs later in November, which means viewers only have to wait a few weeks to see the Geordie duo back on screens. The show will be returning to Australia for the first time since 2019, the Covid-19 pandemic forced it to be moved to Gwrych Castle in Wales.

Some of the other celebs to be included are Mike Tindall- the show's first ever royal contestant, singer Boy George, and comedian Seann Walsh.
