TRAGEDY AS THREE CHILDREN DIE AFTER FALLING THROUGH FROZEN LAKE

Three children have died, whilst a fourth is in hospital in a critical condition, after the ice cracked when they were playing on a frozen lake in Babbs Mill Park in Solihull.

West Midlands police have confirmed that the boys' bodies, aged just 8, 10 and 11, have died after being pulled from the freezing water. A 6-year-old boy is in Birmingham Children's Hospital in a critical condition.

Although the police say that there have been no reports that any other children were involved, they are using specialist water rescue teams to continue searching to make certain.

Temperatures have dropped below freezing in the UK this week for the first time this Winter.
